xAx Community Response and Point Reset.
xAx GENERAL_ZOD_O10 24 Comments · Likes · Like · 27th Sep 2016
Hello xAx,

As you all heard, we introduced a new PvE system that will go live starting October 11th. One of the many things I personally love about xAx is how passionate the member base is about our community. Your positive feedback and your constructive criticism is something we very much appreciate and welcome. Some great ideas have have been implemented in the past based on your feedback. Ultimately, the leadership team is always looking for ways to improve the community for the better and all of you are a big part of that.

Now to address the new PvE system.
  • A full point reset will happen. With the new ROI season in full effect and a brand new PvE system being implemented, the timing of the reset comes at a perfect time.
  • We are moving to a skill base system instead of a participation system. Earning 400 xAx PvE points is an incredible accomplishment on several fronts. Think about the amount of events xAx provided for any given individual to attain 400 points. That is a lot of raids. That is a lot of events on the calendar. For a community to provide that many events for any given individual is incredible. However, like stated yesterday, we want to provide more to the PvE point structure. Earning points for showing up and completing an event is awesome, but its not the system we had envision. We want a competitive system that challenges some of our best PvE players.
  • The purpose of this new PvE system is to make it challenging for individuals to earn points and to move up the ranks. xAx will always have events for everybody on the calendar. From those that require training and even those who just want to get their clears of the week in. But we wanted to provide a system that challenge the top competitive players of our PvE and PvP side. Players who we hope can represent xAx in the MLG competitive scene for PvP and maybe break some world records for PvE.
  • The system introduced yesterday will remain in place. However we have decided to make slight adjustments. Here are the following adjustments:

New Ranking Scale:
One of the things that was left out from yesterdays news post was the award system we have in place when achieving some of these ranks. Part of the discussions about the new PvE revamp we had included conversations about our reward system. We wanted to have people get awarded a lot sooner. In our PvP system, you are awarded when you reach the half way point. To keep it consistent we did the same on the PvE side. However, we realized that we were still dealing with a PvP system that capped off at 200 and a PvE system that capped at 400. We had originally raised the cap last year for PvE because we went to a point per boss system in TTK. First time we have ever done so in Allegiance. This ultimately hurt and diluted our PvE system. In any case, because we have been operating out of the original points per completion system for a few months now, we have decided to make the cap for PvE back to 200 and adjusted the points accordingly. This was how our point system operated before TTK and it will be our new ranking scale going forward.

New Ranks:
xAx PvE 1st Lieutenant - Earned when hitting 25 PvE Points
xAx PvE Captain - Earned when hitting 50 PvE Points
xAx PvE Colonel - Earned when hitting 75 PvE Points
xAx PvE General - Earned when hitting 100 PvE Points
xAx PvE Vice-Admiral - Earned when hitting 150 PvE Points
xAx PvE Admiral - Earned when hitting 200 PvE Points

xAx PvE System 2.0

(Tier 1) Members with 0 to 99 Points
Wrath of the Machine Normal Mode
  • +1 point per completion
Wrath of the Machine Hard Mode
  • +2 points points per completion

Award: Members will be given Discrod access once they reach the rank of General.

(Tier 2) Members with 100 to 149 Points
Wrath of the Machine Normal Mode

  • If a member has more than 3 deaths in an event, they are no longer eligible to receive points and will loose points for that event.
  • If a member has 3-6 deaths in the event, that member will loose a point.
  • If a member has 7-9 deaths in the event, they will loose 2 points.
  • If a member causes a team wipe, that death tally will only count for the individual that causes a team wipe and not for the team.
  • Team wipes or deaths for connectivity issues will not count.
Wrath of the Machine Hard Mode
  • Members will receive +2 point if they complete the raid with less than 3 team deaths.
  • If a member has more than 3 deaths in an event, they are no longer eligible to receive points and will loose points for that event.

  • Team wipes or deaths for connectivity issues will not count.

Awards: Once a member hits Vice-Admiral, they will have first week access on the calendar for new raids and Destiny content.

(Tier 3) Wrath of the Machine Hard Mode 150-199 Points
Wrath of the Machine Normal Mode
  • No Points
Wrath of the Machine Hard Mode

  • If a member has 2-4 deaths in the event, that member will loose a point.
  • If a member has 5-6 deaths in the event, they will loose 2 points.
  • If a member causes a team wipe, that death tally will only count for the individual that causes a team wipe and not for the team.
  • Team wipes or deaths for connectivity issues will not count.

Award: Admirals will have exclusive access to our world record and speed run server where we will be forming teams to go after some world records. Those individuals who are part of our world record team will also be highlighted on our website along with their PvE accomplishments.

Former Admirals
All members who have reached the rank of Admiral will keep their discord access and be given a legacy admiral tag on discord.

Extra Points:
Members can earn 2 extra points for going flawless in a raid.

Side Note:
Over the last 24 hours the restructure of our new system has been a hot topic of discussion. Please understand that we are always open to suggestions and constructive criticism. We very much appreciate all the feed back. However, one thing the leadership team will not tolerate is negative feedback or personal attacks on any members, administrators, ambassadors or the marketing team. The original News post was taken down because some individuals felt it was more productive to attack certain individuals instead of providing a constructive response of their take of the new system.  Any negative feedback towards any individual will be not be tolerated. Please reach out to myself or any ambassador for any further questions.

Can we add a way for non-admins to setup Raids and other events for those of us that aren't worried about points?

@Zod - Since you mentioned that Admirals will be given Legacy Tags on Discord. Is it possible that the Admirals be given Legacy Tags within xAx? We have earned them. Some of us have been here over a year. I hope you and the others of the Leadership can see what I am talking about.
As of now I can speak for myself, I have been playing since day 1 and put a lot of hard work into this game. Since joining this Clan I have put lots of work to gain my rank. I can see you all are moving the PvE system to the PvP system which makes it harder to gain Rank.
Also, once you gain a Rank can you lose that rank? There are lots of questions that need to be answered and I know you all will get it figured out.

Please only reply if you like or have legit answers

We already had events posted a week after the raid was released that required knowledge of the mechanics and experience with it, so I hope that these point rules don't mean we're going to see raid events that become increasingly elitist and unfriendly to less-experienced players. Are people in Tier 2 or Tier 3 going to want to play with anyone in Tier 1? It's already tough to find open events, and I'm worried that this will make it even tougher (and less fun when we do have events). Are there going to be requirements for participation from the higher-tier players in events open to Tier 1 players? That might encourage more cross-tier play and people getting outside their usual teams and connecting with other clan members.

So how is this going to work if you are running your Warlock using the Sunsinger Class?? You can revive yourself, does it count as a death? I would think not cause you are using a skill and nobody is actually reviving you.
If this is the case you are going to see a lot of players switch to the Warlock Class that have never used it before. I would hope you would not tell us we cannot use the skill of that class. Lets see what the out come of this will be........

Hey everyone!

I have some concerns going forward under the new point system that I fear may materialize. Anyone who knows me probably knows Little Gavel, my son, and how there's no such thing as "dead air" when he's in your group. He's young. He dies a lot. He'll die a lot for a long time. He's having tons of fun dying a lot and he's met, we've met, a lot of great clan mates. My son can't wait to get to the raid. I'm sure he's going to die a lot. But I'm also sure he's going to have a blast, and may even make some clan mates laugh in the process. But I'm worried the point system will now make him unpopular in groups. Yeah sure admins a policy of inclusion, but he's no fool, he can tell when/if people are mad at him. I fear the people who play with xAx for fun may get less of it now...

Then of course I have to worry about my points being lost whenever little gav shoehorns his way into a raid and has a great time dying a lot.

I hope I'm wrong. I hope that this doesn't happen.

I do like the ranking changes and as I said before, accept the points reset. The death penalty will eventually cause friction. If I'm getting murdered because someone shoots the door panel in WoTM prematurely, that's not {necessarily} a wipe so I get the penalty.

I've got very mixed feelings on this... the death caps before losing points is really a bit low, considering you're going to be dealing with diverse groups of individuals all with varying experience levels. How will Sherpa raids be factored into this, where wipes and deaths could be in the double digits per round? I understand that Tier 1 is a bit more lenient, but that doesn't mean that Tier 2+ players won't still be negatively impacted by Sherpa raids or by bringing on less experienced players. On that note as well, what's to prevent exclusivity in raids, in which players are more likely to group up with other better experienced raiders, just to avoid losing points - leaving out the less experienced?

TL;DR - I feel this is going to cause a lot of strain from people worrying about losing points raiding with newer players, and put a lot more weight and negativity on the Admin's shoulders in being forced to determine who's at fault with each and every wipe.

"world record and speed run server" should be New Admirals only, no staff outside of Founder and DoO, for Monitoring only. So Admin/Staff have more motivation to get to max points.

Is this per member or team

Not sure if this is an error or not, but the tier 3 title line should read "Members with 150-199 points".

I do like the changes to this, as this accurately represents most of the views of the community members. Nice job on responding so quickly with this. This new system will encourage players to be on their A game, and produce some quality raiders. Cheers!

Like the revamped revamp of the new PvE points. Like that the time limit was taken out and that a little more of a personal performance was added. Keep up the good work leadership.

How do deaths in platforming sections work? Especially in WotM with it's varying jumping bits, I feel like I'm never going to finish a raid without falling off of them once or twice.

While I see the new point system as an overall incentive to push the motivation to improve, I see a rather bigger problem for me personally: As a very casual player of FPS games overall (Destiny being the only one), I feel this rather kills the long run motivation raiding with the clan - If I plan on attending a raid (I got two jobs and am a full time student, so i am forced to plan my evenings beforehand and have pretty much no choice of joining an event spontaniously) for example in the future and the admin will see that my account will probably sitting in the negative end of points or atleast on 0 they will probably move me to reserve or prefer clanmates that are on the higher end of points. Atleast thats what i fear.

Finally, are these 'no death' raids going to be separate from regular raids. Do we have the option to 'opt out' of points in this raids similar to the pvp system? If not I fear for new players. It seems unfair if they are expected to go from a training raid to 'don't die or else' raid.

Thanks for reading, food for thought and open for comment.

Secondly, it seems that the admin team think the pve side of things is being exploited, while the pvp side is uncheesable. I disagree. I think it is wrong that somebody can join a pvp control event, and spend the whole time camping, while the res of the team get terrible k/d's because they were actually trying to win the game and take flags. People can do what ever they like, I just thought I would show you that the pvp system isn't perfect either.

3. I sdont understand the whole 'death/wipe' thing works in this new system. Picture this: A team has Vosik down to a fraction of health, and the whole things falls to pieces, people are waiting for a res, jumping around firing off desperate supers, hurling grenades, sprinting for orbs to get a final bubble up to score a clutch and avoid a wipe. During all this insanity, when multiple people go down multiple times, the admin is supposed to be taking all this information down? That will cause wise in itself, as the admin is not focused

Firstly thank you Zod for your prompt response to the community feedback.

Once again, I feel I must mention a few things.

Firstly, I am sure if you asked the people that became admirals, they would tell you several hundred of the points they earn't on their journey to 'admiral status' were not done in 'participation' raids. People in this community dont just rock up to raid when it is easy. We are a hardcore clan! We are raiding from the minute any given raid is dropped! The raids at that point as you know are extremely difficult, and points earn't during those times are not 'participation' points. Sure, the raid gets easier as time goes on, as your guardian 'becomes legend' and overcomes incredible struggles. That is the whole point of the game. Raid completions in this clan are a testament to that fact. Therefore, points well earn't should not be stripped, forgotten, or negated (and neither should any community perks that go along with them).

How are admins going to be able to tell the difference between the team wipes caused by others and individual deaths? And what about deaths on jumping puzzles from pushing people?

Very behind these changes, and now how similar the PvP and PvE structure is now. Love how the focus is on the individual and their performance, not the team's. Thanks for all the time/ work you guys put into this.
27th Sep 2016 TheYinLoneWolf (Banned)
I think it's better that it's regarded more towards the individual and not the entire fireteam. So not everyone gets penalized for one player's mistake. Also, it's good that you removed time limits, and instead just added death counts for point distribution.
27th Sep 2016 M344FFY
So now it's down to the individual, not the fireteams.
This is better, and actually makes sense GG.
